Part of the company directive was to align the business critical services to the appropriate support costs.
Solution Summary
WTL focused on providing a 'staged' approach in conjunction with Geopost Managers to ensure that the overall strategic goals were met.
An outline proposal was delivered that included:
- Establishing the appropriate support levels required by the business.
- Execution of a full and comprehensive audit of the Geopost IT estate.
- Complete inventory of business services delivered from associated IT infrastructure.
- Consolidation of numerous contracts into a single co-terminous contract.
- Creation of a manageable IT Asset Registry.
Results and Benefits of the Project.
From the outset, WTL's aim was to set about delivering a proposal to meet/exceed the business needs of Geopost UK.
As a result of this approach, Geopost have significantly reduced their annual support costs, and associated services, in the following ways:
- £110k operational saving.
- Much easier management of their support contracts due to the sheer reduction/consolidation of their multiple contracts into a single contract.
- The creation of a full and ongoing IT Asset Registry which efficiently controls the day to day process for maintaining an up-to-date inventory, thus allowing legacy systems to be replaced and easily added to the master support agreement.
- A customised maintenance consolidation solution that meets / exceeds the business needs in all areas, resulting in cost savings.
